Festival Chic

Photo a Day - Thursday - Greenhouse Tetris

It's time for greenhouse tetris again.

I've potted on so much it doesn't fit in the greenhouse. G is great at tetris so I leave the shuffling around to him.

Photo a day - Wednesday - Messy Kitchen

This is the kitchen bombsite today.

From left to right - green bowl which I am making potato salad in, empty slow cooker, colander with scraps for the composter, pile of cds, dressing mix for the potato salad, empty bowl for the curry, half a lemon which I am using for lemon tea, bottle of wine (hic!), diced butternut squash for the curry, chopping board, recipe.

Photo a Day - Tuesday - Gardeners Charm Bracelet

I think it can be clearly said that I'm still on a colour kick.

Photo a Day - Monday - Iron Fist Boots

I bought these boots in an auction hoping the size 5 would fit. No such luck! So off to ebay they go. The decluttering has to keep plodding on if we are ever going to gain our spare room back.

Photo a day - Sunday - Colour

This is my latest colour pallette. I'm working through my bead stash and found this bead soup so decided to make lots of forget me knot style seed bead bracelets with it all as I've nearly run out of them.

Photo a Day - Friday - Craft Fair Stash

We seem to have got in a routine now with the craft fairs stock which is a brilliant. We kept refining and refining our routine and now we seem to be just about at a happy standstill.

The basket is full of packaging materials. Lots of organza bags and spare gift boxes.

The 3 large stacker boxes are 2 boxes of busts, one box of gift boxes stock, and there is the bits and bobs box on top. That contains the moeny tin, crystal bible, spare business cards, pliers, spare findings, duct tape etc.

The stack of 4 small boxes keeps spare stock organised. One for earrings, one for bracelets, one for necklaces and one with "misc".

There are cardboard boxes that I use as a staging platform on the floor with some easels and picture frames, and a bag full of table cloths.

Photo a Day - Thursday - Street Kid

My current reading material.

I call these "Books of Misery" as the genre is so depressing usually. but I couldn't resist this book that ext was really large and I'm really tired at the moment.

I have to admit though, I'm finding it a good read!

Photo a day - Wednesday - Allotment Update

These are my baby lettuces hiding under an old freezer drawer on the allotment. Been enjoying going in the evening after work and having a natter with my neighbors who has had the plot for 53 years. He recommended covering things over as the pigeons kept coming for the breakfast on the plot in the early mornings.
Cerise tomatoes. I've never tried this type before so figure lets see what happen. Knowing me I've probabaly put hanging basket ones in upside down.

And a couple of courgettes. (Zucchini) I use this quite a lot in my cooking and they can be quite pricey at times.

Photo a Day - Tuesday - Leicester

Had a lovely evening in Leicester last night at a Skeptics in the Pub lecture. The discussion last night was by Simon Singh and was about mathematical theorem in the Simpsons and Futurama. Really interesting! if you are into both the Simpsons and maths, then I'd recommend his latest book.

As we parked, I saw a JD ghose sign. I've seen a few ghost signs before, but never a Jack Daniela one. Having said that, I'm wonderng whether it is new or old as JD's styling is usually very retro anyway isn't it?

Photo a day - Monday - Neon

Couldn't sleep this morning so I made a batch of bracelets to put into stock.

Just plain stringing with an extender chain with one a charm on the end, but looks bright and eyecatching on my stall,

Photo a Day - Sunday - Butterfly Brooch

I failed miserably to take a photo of the fair I attended today. It was at Portland College which is "A vibrant national college for people with a wide range of disabilities."

It's great fun to go to as the student take their parents along to the event, and some carers take around kids and grown ups in wheelchairs to go shopping. Having it at the college makes it a great accessible shopping centre for the students and also a good day out for families. At Christmas there was a Scottish bagpipe band. I wondered what they were going to do this time and they had a fairground on the playing field outside and a local football club playing shoot-em-out with the kids.

At the fair I realised that I was running low on bead embroidered brooches, despite recent additions. This one just needs a brooch back sewing on the back too.

Photo a day - Saturday - Bonfire!

After
Can you tell the difference we made today? Please say yes.

Photo a day - Friday - Cat Cameo

Just finishing off this cat cameo brooch. He just needs a brooch back sewing on and he's ready to go!

Photo a day - Monday - Lucky

Anyone else think the lucky rabbits foot on the front of the book looks like  feminine hygiene product?

I'm really getting into this book even though the subject matter is quite brutal. Like with "The Lovely Bones", the writing style makes you want to continue reading despite part of you not wanting to know more details about what the author went through.

Photo a day - Sunday - X-Pac

Another trip to an indie wrestling match for me! And this was a biggie. X-Pac's first indie wrestling match in the UK. And it was to my favourite indie wrestling company, Southside Wrestling in Nottingham.

I am awful at taking photos of wresling matches, so this photo whilst Z-Pac was on the mic was the best one I got.

A great show like ever despite the fact I drank so much coffee that I had to keep running to the loo. People must have thought I had a dodgy tummy or something!

Photo a day - Saturday - Craft Fair

Thought I'd post a photo or two of my current craft fair stock to show how colour is influencing my work at the moment. The more colour the better! I'm working on a lime green project at the moment.
